Money is flooding in professional tennis (nothing wrong with that).
After a series of prize money increases from various tournaments and slams, the French Open takes another step up to increase its prize money to $34.5 million (+$3 million over 2013).
The champions (males and females) will get a 1.65 million each (no bad)… a +150k more than 2013.
The tournament director Gilbert Ysern says ”this notable increase in Roland Garros prize money is part of the plan that was put in place for 2013 until 2016.”
The good part of it is that the prize money increase has been allocated also to the early rounds losers. That is a great help for tennis.
