NEW COACH. Tsitsipas about difference between his father and Thomas Enqvist

Stefanos Tsitsipas explains why he decided to add Thomas Enqvist to his coaching team

Tsitsipas On Enqvist

Stefanos Tsitsipas hit the headlines after hiring Thomas Enqvist as his new coach. The former world number 2 will not replace Stefanos’ father Apostolos, but he is requested to add something new to Tsitsipas’ tennis. In Marseille, Thomas was with Apostolos in the stands.

During the press conference that followed Stefanos Tsitsipas opening match in Marseille, the Greek player revealed:

“What we’re trying to achieve together is him bringing me his experience on the tour, having played at a very high level.

He brings something new and fresh to the team, compared with my father who is a very good coach in my opinion, especially self-taught, not having played the game professionally. Thomas can help me in some parts of my game especially on hard courts or even grass.”
