Rafael Nadal was unsure if he would be able to play the prestigious ATP500 in Acapulco after winning his historical 21st slam in Melbourne last month. However, it seems that Rafa decided to take a shot and head to Acapulco to challenge the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Spanish legend won Acapulco 3 times (2005, 2013, 2020). The tournament was not played in 2021 and therefore, Rafa is the defending champion. (This was the draw)
Nadal was caught at the airport by a fan as per the following post.
