What a week for Alize Cornet.
The Frenchwoman has won a really tough tournament in Katowice. Alize won all matches after the 1st round in 3 sets and she was even bagelled (6-0) twice against Koukalova and Radwanska. In the final Cornet had to even save a match points when she was 4-5 and 30-40 down in the decider to finally win 7-6 (3) 5-7 7-5 in 3 hour and 11 minutes!
Camila Giorgi was just 1 point away from winning her maiden title… but that is going to happen anyway sometime in the future and probably not too far.

After the match Alize commented “What a match. It was definitely a huge fight, which is what I expected, and I had to save a match point to win the title, so it feels very special. I gave everything I had.
