Simona Halep is well known for being a great warrior on court.
The Romanian has played countless battles in her career, and she had many heartbreakers especially after she lost 3 slams finals (2 in Paris and 1 in Melbourne).
Finally, Simona won her first slam this year at the French Open, and she explained why this was an essential boost to her confidence.

On Friday, Simona commented
“Definitely my dream came true. Inside myself, something changed. I’m more relaxed. I feel thankful for everything I achieved.
These two were my dreams, to be number one in the world and to win a Grand Slam. Always I say number one in the world without a Grand Slam; you are not a real number one.”
After the French Open, I really started to believe that I’m a real number one.”
Simona will start her US Open campaign against the world no. 44 Kaia Kanepi.
