Juan Martin Del Potro had a rather emotional week in Buenos Aires, where he played the last match of his amazing career. The Tower of Tandil had a wild card awarded for the ATP500 that will be played next week in Rio De Janeiro. However, not surprisingly, Delpo declined to play in Brazil.
The was the official announcement from the tournament:
“Juan Martin Del Potro, unfortunately, will not compete in the Rio Open. It was always a dream to have him with us and we came very close to being able to fulfill it. We wish you much success in the future and know that the doors of the Rio Open will always be open to you.”
