Emma Raducanu had an incredible 2021. After winning the US Open, she became one of the most popular athletes in the UK and all over the world after being virtually unknown to the big public a few months before her American triumph.

As highlighted by the LTA, Emma was searched just 250 times on Google UK in May 2021. This figure literally skyrocketed in September when Emma was searched 8 million times on Google in the UK.

As per the LTA, in one week in September, she was searched more “than Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jason Kenny across the whole of 2021.”
