Andy Murray wants to fill the (very big) void left by Lendl’s departure and is not easy.
The Scott has to recover from a terrible ranking (8th) and he needs to find some of his confidence lost after the operation to his back.
During a recent interview with the BBC Andy said he wants to find a new coach this month, but he doesn’t need to be a celebrity coach.
From Murray
“I’m sitting down with all the guys I work with tomorrow just to chat about things. I haven’t wanted to talk about it or discuss it yet because it can be distracting,” he commented.
”There’s a lot of factors you need to look at and I would hope I would have someone in place by the French Open, but I don’t want to rush it, make a mistake.
I don’t want to get someone just because they’ve won a lot of tournaments or were great players.
A coach needs to be the right fit for you and they need to get on well with your team too. Because otherwise it’s very hard to make it work.”
