Delbonis will test the maturity of rising star Filip Peliwo from Canada. The youngster won a tricky match against Volandri to reach the 2nd round of an ATP event for the first time.
Regarding the other results clay court specialist Carlos Berlocq defeated Gabashvili 6-4 6-1 and seed no. 5 Joao Sousa beat Sijsling 6-2 6-4.
