IT’S OFFICIAL. Zverev welcomes Lendl in his coaching team

Sascha Zverev and Ivan Lendl will start their partnership ahead of the US Open. The Czech is expected to give the decisive boost to the German to win majors

Sascha Zverev and Ivan Lendl have already shared the court a few times to fire some speculations about a possible partnership. Eventually, it was the German on Tuesday to finally announce their partnership saying, “Welcome to the team Ivan Lendl.”

Zverev did partner with former world no.1 Carlos Ferrero, but that ended rather poorly at the beginning of 2017 when the Spaniard accused Sascha of unprofessionalism and Sascha hit back saying that Carlos was highly disrespectful with his team.

Why Lendl can be a fantastic help for Sascha

The details of the partnership are not clear, but it’s legit to expect Ivan coaching “on-site” Sascha during the most important events.

Lendl was absolutely essential to help Murray to win his 3 slams and reach the top of the rankings. The most import input was encouraging the Brit to play more aggressive tennis, especially during the most important crucial moments. That could be a pivotal aspect to help Zverev to reach his goals: many many slams.
