Struggling Murray to take a long break from tennis

Andy Murray is still struggling a lot with his body and he has problems at recovering after last year’s operation to his back. (see article)

Now ranked world no. 8, the Scott has just lost a terrible match in the Davis Cup against Fognini to take a little break from tennis.

Andy won’t take part to the ATP1000 Master in Monte Carlo to play next in Madrid.

Murray: I am not playing until Madrid

During a recent interview Murray said “I’m not playing until Madrid. I don’t know exactly how long I will take off but I need to let my body recover. Although I maybe haven’t won as many matches as in previous years, that doesn’t mean that when you’re at the tournaments you’re not practicing every day and preparing for those events.

I’ve played a lot of tennis this year. With the Davis Cup as well, that’s an extra couple of weeks. I also played in Rotterdam, another week. Acapulco was straight through into Miami, so it has been quite a long start to the year for me.”

The tournament in Madrid will take place the 5th of May
