Stepanek and Rosol bring Czech Republic to Davis Cup Semifinal

Czech Republic reaches another Davis semi-final and this time without the help of Tomas Berdych.

Stepanek and Rosol had to overcome a rather weak Japanese team that could not rely on the help of Kei Nishikori (left groin injury) to lose both single and now the doubles in Tokyo.

Today Stepanek and Rosol had a rather easy life against Ito and Uchiyama to win  6-4 6-4 6-4.

From Stepanek

Radek commented “This was our first Davis Cup doubles together. We did well and found our range together. We had it under control from the first set.”

From Rosol

Rosol added Rosol said, “We finished the sets strongly today and are happy to be going to the semi-finals. It’s always nice to have more players, but I think Radek and I played really well this weekend.”

Czech Republic will play either Germany or France in the the semi-final.
