The draw in Monterrey is a bit of a mess. In the upper part all seeds have been upset rather early to have an odd, but interesting, semifinal between 43 years-old Date-Krumm and 20 years old Jaksic.
In the lower part of the draw everything went according to plans with seed no.2 Ana Ivanovic taking on seed no.3 Caroline Wozniacki.
Ana came out a weird match against Madgalena Rybarikova to win 6-1 0-6 6-2 in 1 hour and 38 minutes. Caroline had to overcome a combative Pliskova to 6-7 (3) 6-3 6-3.
This will be the 6th match between Ana and Caroline. Head to head is 3-2 for the Serbian.
