Injured Nishikori will skip the Davis Cup

Tough moment for Kei Nishikori.

The Japanese had an interesting run in Miami where he has defeated Dimitrov, Ferrer and Federer before retiring in the semifinal for a left groin injury.

Unfortunately this problem will also prevent Kei from playing the Davis Cup tie against the Czech Republic this week end.

The tie between Japan and Czech Republic will be now particularly poor as also Tomas Berdych won’t compete.

So from one side we will have world no.134 Soeda and world no.146 Ito and on the other we have world no.40 Rosol and world no.47 Stepanek playing singles.

Czech Republic remains the favorite to reach the semifinal.
