Tsitsipas says Medvedev, Zverev, Nadal are the best players on hard after Djokovic

Stefanos Tsitsipas explains who are the top players on hard courts right now besides Novak Djokovic

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Novak Djokovic is unfortunately out of the Australian Open after the local government revoked his visa. Therefore, the big question is: “Who is the favorite to win the Australian Open?”

During his press conference, Stefanos Tsitsipas was asked to comment about who are the top tennis players right now on hard courts besides the world number 1. According to the Greek champion, the top players are Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, and Rafael Nadal. Surprisingly, he also said that he is impressed by the progress of Casper Ruud, who unfortunately could not play the Australian Open after he got an ankle injury.

Stefanos revealed:

“I would put Daniil Medvedev in there, Alexander Zverev, Rafael Nadal. He has won a lot of titles on hard court. Casper Ruud start to become better on hard court than he was before. And Hubert Hurkacz, I think,”

Then when I asked the why he did not mention himself, he added with a smile:

“I didn’t know I could consider myself too. When I get asked questions like this, I always try to think about others and not put myself in whatever that is. It’s a question based on others, not me.

But for sure, myself in there, 100%.”
