WTA Monterrey: Seeds disaster in the first round

Not a good start for the top players in Monterrey.

Pennetta

Flavia still needs to recover from the Indian Wells hangover. After winning the title in California the Italian crashed out in Miami 3rd round and in the opener in Monterrey where she was seeded no.1. In Mexico Flavia lost to 43 years-old Kimiko Date-Krumm 7-5 6-2.

Muguruza

Garbine was seeded no.5 in Monterrey to immediately crash out at the hands of Donna Vekic 7-6 (5) 7-6 (2).

And now?

Well Ana Ivanovic and Caroline Wozniacki are the mega hot favorite for the title that otherwise it is up for grab.
