Emma Raducanu had a fantastic start to her Australian Open campaign after defeating Slone Stephens in 3 sets. There were many doubts about Emma’s confidence in delivering a good performance, especially after being brushed aside in her first match of the year against Elena Rybakina in Sydney when she lost 6-0 6-1.
Eventually, the young Brit was completely up to the task and according to tennis legend Martina Navratilova, winning against such a great name could be a huge confidence boost.
When talking for Tennis Channel, Martina commented: “I think it’s massive. I think it is really big for her for the rest of the year”
