Cori Gauff and Emma Raducanu are definitely among the most followed youngsters. Both teenagers are already ranked in the top 20 thanks to their incredible results in 2021.
However, Gauff and Raducanu started the new season in a completely different fashion. Emma had a rather tough experience in her first match of the year after losing 6-0 6-1 to Elena Rybakina.
Coco lost in the second round in Adelaide’s first tournament of the year. However, that happened at the hands of the world number 1 Ashleigh Barty after the American teenager was winning by one set and a break. Gauff is now playing the second tournament in Adelaide where she brushed aside Katerina Siniakova 6-1 6-2.

Coco Gauff is now the world number 18 in the live rankings with 2,575 points (her career-high). However, if she wins her next match, she will have 2,605 which will make her overtake Emma Raducanu (2595 points) to be the new world no.17.

Ranked no.19 (career-high), the American has a 2-1 match record in 2022. The American is now playing in Adelaide where she defeated Katerina Siniakova 6-1 6-2.
Cori Gauff will square off with the world no.50 Marta Kostyuk in the 2nd round on Wednesday at 6:00 pm on SHOW COURT 1. In the past, they have never competed against each other till now in top events.
Emma Raducanu in 2022
Currently ranked no.18 (career-high), the Brit played her last match on the 11th of January when she was defeated by world no.13 Elena Rybakina 6-0 6-1 in the 1st round in Sydney (draw).
Until now, during this year the Brit owns a composed 0-1 record.
