Novak Djokovic tried to enter Australia with a controversial medical exemption even if he was not vaccinated. Eventually, the Serbian sensation was stopped on arrival because his documentation was considered as not enough. Novak Djokovic was part of an incredible episode last week after being sent to a detention center after his visa was revoked on arrival.
Eventually, Novak appealed that the Court overturn the government’s decision to cancel his visa, and the world no.1 is now free to play.
The reason
The cancellation of the visa was considered unreasonable because Djokovic was told he could have until 8:30 am to respond to intent to cancel visa.
However, in theory, his visa could still be summarily removed and he may be also be banned from entering Australia for 3 years.
The impression is that this is not over and even if Djokovic will have the chance to play the Australian Open he is not expected to receive a warm welcome from the local fans.
BUT Christopher Tran has revealed the government could immediately use a personal ministerial power to cancel Djokovic's visa again. He COULD STILL BE SUMMARILY REMOVED; and WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN FOR 3 YEARS
