Denis and Felix played a fantastic semifinal when Shapovalov defeated Roman Safiullin 6-4 5-7 9-4 before Daniil Medvedev dismissed Felix Auger Aliassime 6-4 6-0. Everything went to the wire in doubles when Shapovalov and Auger Aliassime defeated Medvedev and Saffiulin 4-6 7-5 10-7.

Team Canada will face Team Spain after the Europeans defeated Poland 2-1. The key match was the one that Roberto Bautista Agut won against Hubert Hurkacz 7-6 (6) 2-6 7-6 (5).
