Novak Djokovic gave the good news that he had a medical exemption to play the Australian Open. It is fantastic that the world number 1 has the opportunity to defend his 2021 title and it will be gripping to see Novak trying to win his 21st slam to become the man that has won most majors (singles) in his career.
However, given his supreme fitness, many are not happy to see that Novak Djokovic got a medical exemption being notoriously against vaccination.
Unfortunately, Novak was widely slammed on social media with many nasty comments following his statement on Twitter.
I'm fully vaccinated (+booster) and I can't go and visit my sister and 7 year-old niece (that I haven't seen since 2018) because of covid restrictions in Australia. Seeing you taking advantage of a so-called "exemption" simply disgusts me…

Novak Djokovic in 2022
At the moment ranked no.1, the Serbian played his last match on the 3rd of December 2021 when he defeated world no.30 Marin Cilic 6-4 6-2 in the Rubber 2 of the Davis Cup (draw).
Currently, during this season Novak has managed to achieve a compiled 0-0 win-loss record.
