2014 has been a rather strange year for John Isner so far.
The American won a very curious title in Auckland (he was injured) to then retire in Melbourne. After that he was out from 1 month to recover; then he reached the semifinal in Delray Beach, he crashed out in the opener in Acapulco and then got to the semifinal in Indian Wells (!!!???)
All these ups and downs gave the opportunities to Big john to be ranked world no.10.
Isner: I didn’t expect that…
The American commented “I did not expect to be this far along this early. I didn’t hit a ball for a full month after Australia, so, you know, it’s encouraging in that I played well this week. I certainly did.”
… in Miami it is going to be even better
“I think going forward in Miami, you know, I think I’ll be able to take the court feeling healthy. I think the more matches that I play, the better shape I’m going to get in. That’s the best type of fitness you can do.” he added
