Stefanos Tsitsipas played his first match of the season against Diego Schwartzman in the ATP Cup tie of Greece vs. Argentina. The world number 4 lost in 3 sets after playing good tennis for more than 2 hours and a half. Stefanos had the gut of striking many powerful shots despite the fact that he was still recovering from his elbow of operation.
Unfortunately, after the match, Stefanos Tsitsipas confessed that he has still some pain in his elbow.
The injury
Tsitsipas commented: “I’m in a little bit of pain. That’s normal. I served more serves than I have ever served in the last month. There was fatigue at the end, but, you know, I tried to avoid the pain.
It gets better and better every single day. My serve did let me down, but I think we have plenty of time before the Australian Open begins.”
