Emma Raducanu is in Australia, where she is aiming at having a good run in the first slam of the year. The 2021 US Open champion had a tricky preseason. Unfortunately, Emma got infected by the Coronavirus when she was in Abu Dhabi on the occasion of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. Therefore, Raducanu could not play in the prestigious exhibition, and she found herself a bit late in her preparation.
Emma Raducanu was meant to play a WTA250 event this week in Melbourne. However, she decided not to play anymore so as to fine-tune her preparation.

Now ranked no.19 (career-high), Emma played her last match on the 9th of November 2021 when she was overcome by world no.101 Xinyu Wang 6-1 6-7(0) 7-5 in the 2nd round in Linz (draw).
