“Jannik Sinner, Alcaraz Garfia are similar to me,” says Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has some interesting remarks about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz Garfia

Novak Djokovic is one of the greatest tennis players in history with his 20 slams and after being at the top of the rankings for 351 weeks and counting. During a recent interview, the Serbian sensation had some kind words for Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz Garfia.

The world number 1 said that Jannik and Carlito have some characteristics reminding his early days.

Novak commented:

“Naturally, I somehow recognize parts of myself in someone, some characteristics that I had in my youth: confidence, self-belief, a great desire to win, passion and devotion for the sport. I can see these in young Alcaraz, as well as in Sinner, and it was obvious in Zverev when he was coming up.”

Now the world no.1, Djokovic played his last match on the 3^rd of December when he overcame world no.30 Marin Cilic 6-4 6-2 in the Rubber 2 of the Davis Cup (draw).

This year Djokovic has managed to achieve a composed 55-7 record. The Serbian clinched 5 titles in 2021 at the Australian Open, in Belgrade, at the French Open, in Wimbledon and in Paris. The Serbian got to the final in Rome and at the U.S. Open.

Now ranked no.10, the Italian played his last match on the 29^th of November when he defeated world no.30 Marin Cilic 3-6 7-6(4) 6-3 in the Rubber 2 of the Davis Cup (draw).

Until now, during this year the Italian owns a composed 49-22 match record. Sinner conquered 4 titles in 2021 in Melbourne, in Washington, in Sofia and in Antwerp. The Italian was the runner-up in Miami.

Now the world no.32 (career-high), the Spaniard played his last match on the 13^th of November when he beat world no.41 Sebastian Korda 4-3(5) 4-2 4-2 in the final in the Next Gen ATP Finals to win his 1^st career title.

At the moment, during this season Carlos has a 48-19 match record. Alcaraz Garfia has won 2 titles in 2021 in the Oeiras 3 Challenger and in Umag.
