Emma Raducanu was meant to be one of the big attractions of the upcoming Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi. Emma was supposed to face Belinda Bencic, but that will not happen after she tested positive for Coronavirus.
The statement
Raducanu has started her self isolation a per the rules to release the following statement:
“I was very much looking forward to playing in front of the fans here in Abu Dhabi, but unfortunately, after testing positive for Covid-19, I will have to postpone until the next opportunity. I’m isolating as per rules and hopefully will be able to get back soon.”
The British sensation was meant to fly to Australia on the 17th of December. She was scheduled to play 2 back-to-back tournaments Down Under before the Australian Open. However, her plans may change drastically after this setback.

Now the world no.19 (career-high), the Brit played her last match on the 9th of November when she capitulated to world no.102 Xin Yu Wang 6-1 6-7(0) 7-5 in the 2nd round in Linz (draw).
At the moment, during this season the Brit has achieved a composed 25-9 win-loss record. The Brit has won 1 title at the U.S. Open. The Brit got to the final in Chicago.
