It’s December, and this is one of the most “popular” moments of the year for tennis players to get married. Johanna Konta and Pablo Carreno-Busta surprised their tennis fans after announcing that they tied the knot during the weekend.

Johanna Konta has just announced  her retirement after struggling with multiple injuries. The former world number 4 finally got married to her boyfriend Jackson Wade over the weekend. Johanna made the surprising announcement on Twitter saying: “Yesterday I got married!”

Pablo Carreno-Busta is still very active on the ATP Tour. The bronze medalist got married to his girlfriend Claudia Diaz in Gijon.

Currently ranked no.113, Konta played her last match on the 17th of August when she was defeated by world no.32 Karolina Muchova 3-6 7-6(5) 6-2

in the 1st round in Cincinnati (draw).

During this season Johanna has a 10-8 match record. The Brit has won 1 title in Nottingham.

Pablo Carreno-Busta in 2021

At the moment ranked no.20, Pablo played his last match on the 28th of November when he lost to world no.2 Daniil Medvedev 6-2 7-6(3) in the Rubber 2 of the Davis Cup (draw).

Currently, during this year the Spaniard has achieved a composed 38-18 win-loss record. Pablo clinched 2 titles in 2021 in Marbella and in Hamburg. Carreno-Busta was the finalist in Metz.
