Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the top tennis players in the world that is giving headaches to some of his fans and commentators because of the pronunciation of his surname.
According to U.S. Captioning Company Stefanos landed in the list of the most mispronounced words in the United States alongside some other popular words such as Omicron and Ethereum.
Stefano’s surname should be pronounced “TSEE-tsee-pas.”
There was a similar episode at the beginning of Novak Djokovic’s career when his surname was constantly misspelled.

Currently the world no.4, the Greek played his last match on the 15th of November when he surrendered to world no.5 Andrey Rublev 6-4 6-4 in the round robin in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).
Until now, during this year Tsitsipas has achieved an overall 55-19 win-loss record. Tsitsipas has won 2 titles in 2021 in Monte-Carlo and in Lyon. The Greek was the finalist in Acapulco, in Barcelona and at the French Open.
