Ranked world no.6 (career-high), the Greek played her last match on the 16th of November when she was overcome by world no.7 Anett Kontaveit 6-1 3-6 6-3 in the semifinal in Guadalajara (draw).
Until now, during this year Maria has achieved an overall 38-20 match record. Maria Sakkari’s most significant achievement of this season was getting to the final in Ostrava.
