Another good and solid performance for Roger Federer in Indian Wells.
The first set had an “interesting moment” from the 5th to the 7th game when Roger first broke Tommy, to then be broken again in the following game and then break soon after the German (3-2 3-3 4-3) and win the opener 6-4.
The second set was much more regular as the difference between these two was just one break in the fifth game (3-2). The match ended 6-4 6-4 after 1 hour and 24 minutes.
Once again Roger had a very good match. The Swiss fired 7 aces (1 double fault); his break point conversion rate wasn’t great (only 3 breaks on 11 break points) , but he is now 100% confident about his game.
Next vs. Anderson
Roger won’t face is friend Stanislas Wawrinka as the world no.3 was upset by Kevin Anderson. Federer has played the South African only once and that was a 6-4 6-4 win in Paris 2013.
