Azarenka crashes out in the first round in Indian Wells at the hands of Lauren Davis.

Not a good comeback for Vika Azarenka that she loses to world no.66 Lauren Davis in straight sets.

Vika was clearly not at her top as she had less than a week practice after being idle for more than a month (ankle injury).

The match lasted 97 minutes and the score line was a bit too tough for Vika (especially the first set), but at least it was a good test for the Belarusian to understand her fitness.

Probably too early?

“Thinking now,” commented the former world no.1 , “it might have been too early, but I wouldn’t know if I didn’t try.”

Lauren Davis will play Varvara Lepchenko in the next round
