Serena Williams is the latest big personality alongside Naomi Osaka to voice her support for Shuai Peng on Thursday. The Chinese player was censured and she disappeared after she posted some allegations of sexual abuse on Weibo, stating she was pressurized into sex by the former vice-premier of China, Zhang Gaoli.
Since that moment, Shuai colleagues and fans have been deeply concerned about her whereabouts. The Chinese government media posted a “creepy” statement on social media with a letter that was supposedly addressed by Shuai to the WTA saying she is fine. There are serious doubts about the authenticity of that letter.
Naomi Osaka already posted her support for Shuai and her account on Weibo was censured.
