Stephens struggles with her wrist and her personal life

Sloane Stephens is definitely one of the most exciting players in the WTA circuit..

The American broke on the big scene when she defeated her childhood idol Serena Williams at the last year’s Australian Open.

Unfortunately since then she hasn’t really shined as she had to cope with some physical and personal issues.

The Wrist

Sloane has been struggling for some time with her wrist (that’s no good) and she didn’t have a clear diagnosis after consulting 5 specialists. “I have like an old person’s wrist that kinda just messes up when it wants to and gives me some trouble. I don’t even know what the actual diagnosis is.”

The Personal Life

Like many other athletes, Sloane is still very young and she battles with some aspects of her professional life “I think people forget that there’s a normal life that you have to live outside of being on the tennis court all the time,” . I’m a regular 20-year old girl. I sometimes need to, like, talk to Paul  about my boy problems or I need to talk to Andrew about how stupid my best friend is.”

Sloane will play world no.168 Ajla Tomljanovic in her Indian Wells opener.
