RETIREMENT. Federer to skip Australian Open and probably Wimbledon.

Roger Federer gives sad news to his fans

Roger Federer

Roger Federer is an absolute tennis icon for the results he has achieved alongside his fantastic personality and brilliant tennis. However, it seems that the 40-year-old has fewer chances to be back to competitions after undergoing his third knee operation.

The Swiss legend announced that he would definitely not be back on the occasion of the Australian Open and it will be very difficult for him to recover also for Wimbledon. Roger said that he will be able to have some light jogging in January and he may start his tennis training by March or April.

Roger commented:

“This summer it was decided to suture the lesion to my meniscus, which involves some downtime. The doctors therefore took the opportunity to also treat my cartilage. The combination of these two interventions requires patience and prudence.

My ambition is to see what I’m capable of one last time. I also wish I could say goodbye in my own way and on a tennis court. That’s why I give my all in my rehabilitation.

Then, let’s be clear, my life is not going to collapse if I don’t play a grand slam final again. But it would be the ultimate dream to go back. And, in fact, I still believe in it. I believe in these kinds of miracles.”
