We had a great exhibition in New York as world no.2 Novak Djokovic took on the Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray.
The exhibition was … a typical one. Lots of shot between the legs, overheads played to give extra chances of recovery, kids pulled out from the crowd to play. Even Marion Bartoli had to exchange a couple of shots with Murray… etc …etc…
At the end of the day the match ended with Nole winning 6-3, 7-6 (2), but the result was obviously the less important thing.
Nole: “I was amazed by the size of it. With the history in the world of sports and entertainment and music, it’s probably the most impressive and most important indoor facility in the world.”
Andy: “We might never get the chance to play here again. Wanted to enjoy it. Hope everyone who came along had a good time as well. That was the whole point today.”
Now time to be serious again and to head to Indian Wells. Things are not going to be as friendly over there!
