Djokovic Disaster: Tiriac says Becker may not be a good coach

That was quite a comment from the always controversial Ion Tiriac!

The Romanian knows Boris Becker very well as he was his manager and coach and now he (strangely) is attacking him.

Nole had a rather bad start of the year as he wasn’t even able to reach the semis in Melbourne and he couldn’t defend his title in Dubai. Obviously many are pointing at Boris Becker (Nole’s head coach) for this as the German was appointed to help the Serb for the big matches.

Tiriac: I am not sure Boris is even a coach

Ion commented “I don’t know if Boris is a good coach. I don’t even know if he is a coach… Maybe he is learning how to be a coach. If Boris tries to improve the technique and shots of Djokovic, he is the wrong man for the job. You cannot teach a world-class player like Djokovic more in this respect.”

Djokovic: Boris can help for the mental approach

Nole has been insisting for some time that Becker is helping more to help him on  how to approach important matches “We’re not significantly changing anything. The biggest thing he can contribute is the mental approach. That’s one of the reasons Boris is here, because of the big matches and the Grand Slams. I felt I dropped two or three titles in the last two years I could have won.”

Well… apparently the mental approach is just where Djokovic is weak right now. Any solution?
