Emma Raducanu is in a rather unique situation. She has no one coaching her right now despite having just won the US Open. Emma parted ways with her previous coach Andrew Richardson saying that she is looking for somebody with good experience at the WTA level. The 18-year-old has conducted a series of trials with new potential coaches. One of them was Spaniard Esteban Carril, who used to coach Jo Konta.
Soon the new coach
Raducanu is about to play the WTA 250 in Linz where she is seeded number 1. However, she admitted that she is in Austria without any coach. The good news is that she sounded quite sure she would have a new coach pretty soon. Emma revealed
“I’m here on my own. I’m my own coach again this week, which I think is really good for me long term. I’m really feeling positive about my coaching situation, it’s in a good place. I’ll have a coach in place at the Australian Open.
I had some trials and they went well. I’m really excited to get some good work done in pre-season and we’re going to have a really good time for sure. I think my game’s going to be moving in the right direction so I’m pretty excited for that.”
