Novak Djokovic keeps on breaking every sort of record. The Serbian sensation will secure the year-end world number 1 ranking after defeating Hubert Hurkacz in the semi-final in Paris on Saturday. This achievement means that Djokovic finishes at the top of the rankings for a record seventh time. He was previously sharing this record with Pete Sampras.

Novak was clearly elated with his latest record to comment:

“Just proud and extremely happy. Obviously, that was one of the biggest goals and it’s always one of the biggest goals, to try to be No. 1 and end the season as No. 1. To do it for the record seventh time and surpass my childhood idol and role model, Pete [Sampras], is incredible. Very grateful, very blessed to be in this position.”
