Nasty stuff for Juan Martin Del Potro.

The Argentine has been struggling for some time with his left wrist to try to play anyway the ATP events  (see article). Today the Argentine wasn’t able to end his match against Somdev Devverman to retire at the beginning of the second set after losing the opening one 7-6 (3).

Delpo was visibly struggle with his wrist to comment “I don’t feel really . My wrist is hurting a lot and everybody knows what happened to me four years ago with my other wrist. It was really tough to play today. I tried everything. I cannot be the player I would like to be.”

Devvarman commented “It’s unfortunate, especially for a guy like him. I realized he wasn’t comfortable hitting backhands and I tried to make him hit as many as I could, and he wasn’t really hitting over it so I knew he wasn’t happy.”

Juan Martin now will have more tests to understand the entity of his injury.

Let’s hope it’s nothing bad.
