Garbine Muguruza had a mega start of the year.
Her breakthrough tournament was the Hobart International that she has won without losing a set coming straight from the qualifications. InAutralia she has also reached the 4th round at the Australian Open beating Caroline Wozniacki in the third.
Now in Florianapolis Garbine has a clear shot at winning her 2nd career title as the draw doesn’t show top ranked players.
The top seeds are Suarez-Navarro, Muguruza, Zakopalova, Schiavone, Niculescu (the defending champion), Cadantu, Torro-Flor and Ormaechea.
