Emma Raducanu and Simona Halep are the big stars of the upcoming WTA 250 that will be staged in Transylvania. Simona is already an established icon in Romania. However, the local fans are also keen on Emma Raducanu whose father was born in Bucharest.

Simona is seeded number 1 while Emma is number 3. However, Raducanu fell in Halep’s half in the draw and therefore, there is the opportunity that they will clash against each other in the semi-final.

It will be interesting to see how Emma Raducanu will play in this tournament. The 18-year-old was clearly struggling with nerves when she played the opening match at the recent Indian Wells tournament. Emma is not used to playing at top level and with all the attention on her.

in the 2nd round in Indian Wells (draw).

Presently, during this year Raducanu achieved a 23-7 match record. Emma clinched 1 title at the U.S. Open. The Brit was the finalist in the Chicago.

Simona Halep in 2021

Now the world no.19, Simona played her last match on the 22nd of October when she lost to world no.7 Maria Sakkari 6-4 6-4 in the quarter in Moscow (draw).

Currently, during this year Simona owns a composed 18-9 match record. Simona Halep’s most significant result of the year was getting to the semifinal in Stuttgart.
