We had only 1 tournament last week (Doha), but that was enough to change many things.
Azarenka, Na Li and Radwanska
Vika Azarenka wasn’t able to defend her title (injured) and that gave the opportunity to Na Li (now world no.2) and Agnieszka Radwanska (no.3) to gain one place. Azarenka is now world no.4.
Halep
The Romanian won the title in Doha to gain another place and be ranked at a career high world no.9 just 55 points from Angelique Kerber that she has defeated in the Doha final. Do not be fooled, she is at least a top5 player right now.
Errani
Sara lost in the quarters in Doha (a nasty 6-2 6-0 at the hands of Simona Halep) to lose 3 poistions and now be ranked world no.10.
The biggest gainer: Petra Cetkovska
The Czech had great tournament to come from the qualifications and beat great names such as Sloane Stephens and the new world no.2 Na Li. Petra lost in the quarters against Angelique Kerber (a nasty 6-1 6-0), but this week made her gain 43 places (now world no. 91).
The biggest loser: Caroline Garcia
The Spaniard is having a horrible year to lose all her 4 matches. Caroline has lost other 13 places to be now ranked world no. 89
