Raducanu and the pandemic
Andy Murray did not spend much time with Emma, but he is well-informed about her development since Raducanu used to be coached by Andy’s father-in-law Nigel Sears. According to Murray, in a way Emma Raducanu was helped by the pandemic because she spent a lot of time improving from a technical point of view.
Andy commented:
“In the past 18 months, before the grass season and Wimbledon, she didn’t compete much, which somehow allowed her to make some technical changes and develop.
I didn’t spend much time with her on a tennis court, but it wouldn’t surprise me if she picked up things very quickly.”
After losing in the opening match in Indian Wells, Raducanu will be back to Europe to play 3 tournaments in Russia, Romania, and Austria. She is also scheduled to play the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in December.
