Cilic wins the title in Zagreb for the second consecutive year!

This was a great week for Marin Cilic.

The Croat went through a very tough moment in 2013 after winning this very tournament as he was suspended for doping (apparently for a minor mistake). Then Marin was reinstated and he came back as strong as ever to win again the title in Zagreb.

The final was rather smooth for Cilic that has just struggled on the first game when he dropped the serve. Then Marin broke back immediately to break again Tommy in the 6th game (4-2) and win the opener 6-3. In the second set the Cilic broke Haas in the 7th game (4-3) to finally win 6-4. See Match Stats

Cilic: It feels great

Marin commented “I feel great after winning it last year and winning it twice more in ’09 and ’10. It feels great again to win here at home. The week was really good. It’s going to help my confidence and my game, especially in the indoor season. I’m going to head to Rotterdam now and I’m looking forward to keep playing with good form there.”

This is Marin’s 10th career title, the 4th in Zagreb, and he will try to get another one now in Rotterdam where he is going to play Rosol in his opener.
