Pavlyuchenkova beats Errani to win the title in Paris.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova had a great week in Paris. Seeded no.4 the Russian has won 4 matches in 3 sets coming back from a set down.

During her incredible week Anastasia has also managed to beat 3 top 10 players (Angelique Kerber, Maria Sharapova and now Sara Errani).

The final against the Italian was another “up and down stuff” as Anastasia had to recover a 1 set down deficit; she lost 7 consecutive games since she was 3-1 up in the opener and then she won 6 consecutive games; the world no.28 found herself 1-3 down in the decider, but the Italian imploded once again and Pavlyuchenkova won 5 consecutive games. Anastasia commented “When I lost seven games in a row I don’t really know what happened – maybe I was a little stressed because I was missing some shots and she was so solid. Also, I was serving so well throughout the tournament and there were times today where I was struggling on serve.

“But I knew it was from my side, so if I just focused and kept fighting I could get it back.”

This is Pavlyuchenkova ‘s 6th career title (click here to see all titles).
