Roger Federer has always been a bit allergic to the Davis Cup that is always played in awkward times. Now the Maestro see a real opportunity to win the trophy as his team mate Stanislas Wawrinka is definitely at the top of game.
So the timing is good also because the first stop will be Serbia that won’t have Djokovic (resting), Tipsarevic (injured) and Troicki (suspended). That means that Roger and Wawrinka will face 2 players ranked outside the top 100.
The other good news is that if Switzerland win it will play either Belgium or Kazakhstan in the quarters… so Roger and Stan should have a clear shot to reach the semifinal.
