It’s official: Emma Raducanu will play in Indian Wells, and she will not start from the qualifications.

Raducanu was in a rather weird situation. Since she was ranked number 150 before the US Open, she was meant to play the qualifications in Indian Wells. However, after winning the American slam, the new British sensation was ranked number 22. Emma became an instant sensation and tennis fans are keen to see her playing the main draw.

Therefore, Raducanu received a widely expected wild card for the main draw. It was the official account of the BNP Paribas Open to officialize the wild card with a post on social media.
