WTA rankings. Sharapova loses 1 place; Bouchard and Cibulkova make giant leaps

We have some interesting changes in the WTA rankings after the Australian Open.

Sharapova

Maria had a disappointing Australian Open to lose in the 4th round when she was 1 set up against Dominika Cibulkova. This made the Russian Beauty to lose 1 place to the semifinalist Agnieszka Radwanska. Now world no.5

Bouchard

Genie had a great Australian Open to lose in the semi-finals against Na Li. This allowed the Canadian upcoming star to break in the top 20 (no.19). More is coming…

Cibulkova

The big surprise of the Australian Open Dominika Cibulkova (finalist) climbs 10 poistions to be ranked world no.13

Ivanovic

The Serbian Beauty had a wonderful Australian Open as she has managed to beat Serena Williams in the 4th round. Ana climbs 4 poistions to be ranked world no.12

Halep

Simona was expected to achieve a bit more from this Australian Open to crash out in the quarters against Cibulkova. The Romanian gains 1 place to be ranked world no.10.

Na Li

The 2014 Australian Open winner didn’t go up any place, but she is now only 11 points from world no.2 Vika Azarenka.
