Stefanos Tsitsipas played an important part in team Europe to win the fourth Laver Cup. The Greek sensation was struggling for few months with confidence and physical issues. It was revealed that he has been battling with a foot injury since the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Later, he was the target of some harsh criticism for his long toilet breaks. His Laver Cup teammate Alexander Zverev was extremely vocal against Stefanos’ toilet breaks accusing him of cheating during the Cincinnati semifinal.

Tsitsipas and the Laver Cup

The situation was so tense that many speculated that Stefanos would have skipped the Laver Cup. It is also well known that he has not the best relationship with Daniil Medvedev, also part of Team Europe.

Fortunately, it seems that everything went pretty well. Stefanos was extremely happy with the Laver Cup because Team Europe won the coveted trophy for the fourth consecutive time and his relationship with the rest of the team.

The Greek sensation commented:

“It has been more than a pleasure to be fighting for this trophy. I’d like to thank all of my teammates. They have all been kind of my rivals, and it is nice to see that now we get to be part of one team and aim for the same goals and for the same things.

It has been more than a pleasure to be fighting for this trophy, and I think what is the most important and what stands out this week are the memories that we have built and formed together.”
