Jaw-dropping Radwanska upsets Azarenka in Melbourne

What a great match for Agniezka Radwanska!

The world no.5 displayed an incredible tennis to annihilate Victoria Azarenka in the first and deciding set. Agnieszka played her style (the amazing one) by throwing at her opponent all sorts of variations and that is something that “boom-boom” player often do not like.

So, the Pole started the match taking a very fast 5-0 led to wrap up the opener 6-1. In the second set Vika was back to win the decisive break at the 12th game at 0. Third set? Bye bye! Agnieszka played her best tennis to bagel Azarenka (6-0).

Radwanska:  I had to play aggressive

The Pole commented “It’s always hard because I lost against her so many times. I had to play aggressive and go for every shot I could. That’s what I tried to do and I think it was working today. For sure the best quarter-final I’ve played … I’ve played a few here,” she told the crowd today.

One day I had to step up to get to the semi-final, so I’m so, so happy today was the day.”

The semis vs. Cibulkova

Agnieszka will play world no. 24 Dominika Cibulkova in the semifinal.

Head to head is 5-1 for Radwanska
